MBA degree with the concepts of its reputation is the target of many young intellectuals, the professional and non- professional managers. Why MBA?
Studying MBA to be a logical and professional manager is the most important target. MBA programs usually offer students not only basic of modern management science, problem – solving methods but also thinking systematically, creatively approach to the management issues and leadership. From the end of 1990s, The University of Technology is the pioneer offering MBA in Viet Nam. Our affiliate International MBA programs have been recognized by business community and society for 12 years.
MBA in Management Consulting International (MBA-MCI) program is cooperated between HCM University of Technology and University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland. After graduating from this program, students become professional managers who have knowledge, specialized skills to be professional consultants or senior executives. The course of study includes both of general and specialized contents, they are general management and economic, leadership, communication in consulting, consulting process, management of consulting firm, psychology in consulting, consulting competence, research methodology, etc.
Program is designed basing on the European standards with 90 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) while other MBA programs usually include 60 ECTS. With 90 ECTS program, students will take more advantages when they move up to doctorate studies.
The course of study includes 4 semesters during 20 months. English is used during course by Switzerland experience professors and Vietnam assitant lecturers. MBA-MCI program is taught at many countries: Switzerland, German, British, China, and Thailand. Students can choose to join some courses in these countries (depend on schedule) and last semester at Switzerland with competitive tuition fee.
Participating in this programs, students not only have the opportunity to acquire modern management knowledge, skills, and professional consulting process but also share and accumulate the hands-on experience from the accomplished world-class teaching staff. Another essential value that the MBA-MCI program brings about is chances for student to get to know one another, make friends, and build relationships. Figures show that more than 60% of students have more than 7 years of experience, and 40% are CEOs, Board of Administration members, business-owners, managers in many different professions 9 industry, law, healthcare, baking, education, consulting, food engineering, manufacture…), from domestic and international corporations. Besides, in 2011, there are 7 international students (coming from Spain, Portugal, and Sweden) enrolled. These are important characteristics showing diversity and international high quality MBA program.
The lectures take place in the evenings and at weekends. After completing a module, students will have time for self-study and working in group projects before starting a new one.
Admission criteria: Holding a Bachelor’s degree, 3-year work experience. Applicants with special circumstances (work experience acquired during study time) can be considered. English proficiency: IELTS 5.5 (or equivalent). Applicants without a English certificate can sit the English entrance test or join the Pre-MBA course (8-week English course for applicants didn’t meet the requirement or anyone wants to improve English skills)
